Robert Tavener
A highly talented and influential printmaker and illustrator, he trained at Hornsey College of Art and later taught printmaking at his local Art College in Eastbourne for many years. His print themes included the Sussex landscape and coast, architectural subjects and his iconic series of Horse Guards on parade. His bold, colourful and assured style led to commissions from London Transport, the BBC, Shell, the General Post Office and many major companies and institutions. He also worked as an illustrator of children’s books and for magazines. His print work is owned by many public institutions and galleries in the UK and USA.
